L’année prochaine, la direction de l’APECS déménage à Tromsø à l’Université arctique de Norvège (UiT) et doit embaucher un nouveau directeur/directrice. La date limite de candidature est le 7 novembre 2021.
Dear Polar Community
Big News for the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) : The APECS Directorate is moving… to Norway !
It has been an exciting process and we were very happy to have seen such great interest from many institutions in many countries - thanks for all the individual and great discussions !
The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) in partnership with the Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI) and the High North Research Centre for Climate and the Environment (FRAM) was selected as the main sponsor for 2022-2026 ! We are also very happy that APECS will start a strong collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder, US. Further, we have received a generous sponsorship offer from the Netherlands Polar Program to support our activities over the coming years.
And finally, we are very grateful for the amazing support we received from our host institution AWI over the past 5 years. The fruitful collaboration resulted in many new initiatives and opportunities for early career researchers. In fact, funding from ongoing projects of ARICE, INTERACT and Arctic PASSION will allow APECS to keep an APECS International Office at AWI in Potsdam until 2025 when the newest EU project, Arctic PASSION is ending.
Next year we will not only have a new Directorate address at the Arctic University of Norway (UiT) in Tromsø but also a new Director to be hired. ***Please forward this great job opportunity of the APECS Director position to suitable candidates in your environment !*** Application deadline is 7 November.
With best wishes,
APECS Executive Director
