Le secrétariat du SCAR annonce la parution de la newsletter de juin 2020.
Introduction from the Executive Director
Welcome to the July edition of the SCAR Newsletter. As it’s only a few days to go until SCAR2020 Online officially opens, we’ve dedicated most of this newsletter to the meeting.
We’ve had over 2000 people register - if you haven’t done so there’s still time and it is free. Our live plenaries start on Monday 3rd August at 8am UTC with Dr Valérie Masson-Delmotte, co-chair of IPCC Working Group 1, speaking about ‘Climate Change, Antarctica and the IPCC AR6’.
We look forward to seeing you at #SCAR2020 Online. We advise that you check you can access the online event portal in advance of the event starting on Monday if possible (follow the instructions in the email you receive when you registered).
A number of independently organised parallel sessions which were scheduled for the physical OSC conference in Hobart are already taking place online this week. They have been a big success so far. It’s been great to see the community come together for these meetings and see so many lively discussions.
If you are looking for a chance to showcase your work do consider submitting a story to ECO magazine, with whom SCAR is partnering for its September edition (details below).
A big thanks to the Antarctic research community for putting so much work and enthusiasm into all the #SCAR2020 events during a very challenging time. We hope you have a stimulating couple of weeks.
